Four shades of grey, 128 by 112 pixels

The Game Boy Camera came out in 1998. It took tiny photos in four shades of grey, and everything came out grainy, dithered and slightly haunted.
Magazines used to run galleries of readers’ prints every month. This is mine. Every photo here goes through the same treatment the camera gave them.

WINNER!
Pride of place for the best snap of the month. Swap this test card for it, and give it the caption it deserves.

A test card from the bottom of a drawer in Essex. Swap it for a real snap.

This one has been staring at us all week. Nobody knows why.

Checks, rings and a big number. Not its best angle, but it’ll do for now.

A quiet test card that would rather be a face.

All diagonals. It looked better on the screen, honest.

A spotlight and a number. Somebody, somewhere, will call this art.

Holding the spot until something stranger turns up.

The checks are back. We’re starting to see patterns.

Ripples, presumably from a very small pond.

Ten out of ten for effort. Swap it in the editor.

Leaning slightly, like all the best prints.

Lit like a police interview. Replace with care.

Unlucky for some, mostly for this test card.

Still no faces. Point a camera at someone, please.
These two arrived as a pair and won’t be split up.
